Do ash catchers really work?
Yes. An ash catcher traps ash and resin before they reach your bong, so the bong stays cleaner for longer. A wet ash catcher also adds a stage of water filtration for smoother hits.
Is a wet or dry ash catcher better?
A wet ash catcher holds water and a percolator, so it adds filtration and cools each hit. A dry ash catcher holds no water, so it adds no drag and is quicker to clean. Choose wet for smoother hits and dry for a lighter setup. We carry both.
How much water should you put in an ash catcher?
In a wet ash catcher, add enough water to just cover the perc. Too much water can splash into your bong or mouthpiece.
What is the difference between a 45° and 90° ash catcher?
The angle has to match your bong's joint. A 45° ash catcher fits a joint that angles out from the bong, and a 90° ash catcher fits a joint that points straight up. With the wrong angle, the ash catcher will tilt. We carry both 45° and 90° ash catchers.
What size ash catcher do I need?
Our ash catchers have a 14mm joint. They fit into the 14mm end of a standard downstem, where the bowl normally goes, so they work with 18mm bongs like our beakers. Each product page lists the joint and angle.
How do I clean an ash catcher?
Remove it from your bong, fill it with 90% or higher isopropyl alcohol or a resin cleaner, cover the openings and shake gently, or soak it in a sealed bag for about 30 minutes. Rinse well with warm water and let it dry fully before reattaching. A clean ash catcher keeps its perc working properly. Our guide on how to clean a bong has the full steps.
Which percs do your wet ash catchers use?
Our wet ash catchers use either a showerhead perc or a removable 6 inch downstem with a built-in Pirelli perc. The removable stem makes cleaning easy and is compatible with all Milkyway 6 inch downstems.
Can I use a wet ash catcher on a straight tube or recycler?
Yes. A wet ash catcher works well as a second perc on a straight tube, and pairs with a recycler for even more filtration and cooling.
