Unlike traditional bongs, which typically consist of a single chamber and a stem, percolator bongs incorporate one or more percolators, which are special components that force the smoke to pass through water multiple times. What are the different types of percolators?

This type features multiple arms (or ‘trees’) with small holes. The smoke is diffused through these arms, resulting in highly effective filtration and a smooth, cooled smoke.

2. Showerhead Percolator

This percolator uses a vertical tube with slits at the bottom resembling a showerhead. It creates a unique bubbling effect that cools the smoke, providing significant filtration and a smoother hit.

3. Pirelli

A Pirelli percolator is a variation of the very popular slits style option, and in this option, the slits are non-continuous and are instead segmented into two or three parts. Alongside its unique aesthetics, it also helps to contribute to cooling and filtering the smoke for a smoother experience.

4. Downstems

Downstems and used in both beakers and straight tubes and create a pathway for the smoke to travel through. As the smoke passes through, it becomes filtered, creating a clean and smooth hit. A major advantage of downstems is that they can be easily removed and cleaned.
